ICMA-RC Supports National Employee Benefits Day

ICMA-RC endorses National Employee Benefits Day — April 2, 2007 — as a way to bring more awareness to the efforts of those responsible for employee benefits plans.

The International Foundation of Employee Benefit Plans (IFEBP), founder of National Employee Benefits Day, will host a free financial literacy Web cast to celebrate the day.

“This year's theme is financial literacy, which is certainly relevant to our plan participants as they save and build toward a secure retirement,“ said Joan McCallen, ICMA-RC President and CEO. “We encourage our participants to be well informed. We want them to have the information they need to make educated choices about their retirement future.”

IFEBP, the largest nonprofit educational association serving the employee benefits and compensation industry, is hosting several useful resources on their Web site. Resources available include the online video Are Your Plan Participants Financially Savvy? How Proactive Plan Sponsors Can Make a Difference, and other free informational materials on financial literacy.

“Educating our participants about saving, investing, and money management is a key component of our outreach because it goes a long way toward accomplishing our mission of building retirement security,” McCallen said.
